Jonathan Seymour-Williams - President 2024

Jonathan was born in Chipping Sodbury. His father, (a past President) and grandfather were solicitors in Bristol and his mother’s family were well-known paint and oil merchants of the city. All served in various local and government positions

Trained in Agriculture and a Chartered Accountant he spent 20 years in the investment and pensions industry in the City, and subsequently returned to South Gloucestershire to pursue local business Investment. He managed a commercial property portfolio across Gloucestershire and has seen the range and change of economic fortunes.

Much of his background is associated with urban fringe and less fortunate parts of the old county, giving him an understanding of the current economic, administrative and social challenges.

Jonathan was a director of a chain of pharmacies and Governor of the Bristol University Hospital Trust. He resides in a rural area farming on the eastern fringe of Bristol and is actively involved in planning for housing with a keen interest on the green agenda.
